言葉でうまく伝えられない想い、音で伝える事
タイトルの『From.K』のKは「熊本」また自身の「敬」からきている。 今回のアルバムは全て即興であり一度きりの演奏で録音。 収録には震災から2ヶ月半、余震も続いていた7月4日に行われ、 震度7を2回も被災した、益城町文化会館ホールの許可された1日だけで、 朝から夜まで休まず収録を行った。このCDは吉田自身の実家が益城町だったこともあり、 何か自分で貢献できることはないかと考え、作品を作り聴いてもらうことにより、 益城町から全国へこの震災は未だ終わっておらず、まだ復興支援が必要である事を伝えたい。 そして「売上を寄付していきたい」。そんな強い想いにより、会館に直談判し収録が実現。
CDには益城の「いま」をそして吉田の想いを伝えるため、朝に収録された1曲目から、 夜に収録された16 曲目まで、ノイズ、そのほか建物の余震できしむ音なども全て収められている。 言葉ではうまく伝えられない思いは全て音で伝えたい。」その言葉通り、 演奏には吉田自身の全身全霊の感情が荒々しく、また時には繊細なピアノの音に全て込めらている。
The “K” in the title “From. This album was recorded as a one-time-only performance, entirely improvised. The recording took place on July 4, two and a half months after the earthquake, when aftershocks were still continuing, and was recorded on a single permitted day at the Mashiki Town Cultural Hall, which was hit twice by a magnitude 7 earthquake. Yoshida’s parents live in Mashiki Town, so he thought about what he could do to contribute to this CD, and by creating this CD and having people listen to it, he hopes to convey the message from Mashiki Town to the rest of Japan that the disaster is not over yet and that reconstruction assistance is still needed. We would also like to donate the proceeds to charity. With this strong desire, we asked the hall directly and the recording was realized.
The CD contains all the tracks from the first track recorded in the morning to the 16 tracks recorded at night, including the noises and creaks from the aftershocks. I want to convey everything in sound that words can’t convey. As he says, Yoshida’s whole heart and soul are contained in the rough and sometimes delicate piano sounds.
